Day 1: ZAGREB
Upon arrival at Zagreb Airport, transfer to hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: ZAGREB – POREČ
Morning sightseeing of Zagreb. Visit the older historic Upper Town with its neo-gothic Assumption Cathedral, the famous St. Marks Church, the colorful market, and old Banski Dvori Palace.. Drive to Porec. Visit to the basilica of St Euphrasius (6th c.) known for its splendid mosaics. Dinner and overnight in Porec.
Day 3: PULA – BRIJUNI ISLANDS National Park – OPATIJA
Morning departure to Brijuni Islands National Park abounding in luxuriant subtropical vegetation and wildlife, with numerous archaeology sites, consisting of 14 islands and islets of which we tour the Veliki Brijun Island. Continuation to Pula. Sightseeing tour of Pula including visit to Arena ( lst century AD), one of the best preserved Roman amphitheater in the world. Afterwards, we proceed to Opatija, once the resort of choice for the Habsburgs and European Royalty as well as cultural figures such as Gustav Mahler, Isidora Duncan and A.P.Chekhov for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: PLITVICE LAKES National Park (UNESCO)- STARIGRAD
Depart for Plitvice Lakes, the largest national park in Croatia, with 16 lakes and waterfalls surrounded by dense woods. Tour of the Plitvice Lakes National Park. Departure for Paklenica National Park. Dinner and overnight in Starigrad.
Day 5: PAKLENICA National Park – ZADAR
Morning visit of Paklenica National Park, known for its unique Karst landscape consisting of Great and Small Paklenica Canyon. Departure to Zadar, sightseeing tour of Zadar including Roman Forum, St Elias s Church and St Donatus. Dinner and overnight in Starigrad.
Day 6: KRKA WATERFALLS National Park – ŠIBENIK (UNESCO)
Morning departure to Krka Waterfalls National Park. Touring of the waterfalls and a boat ride to the islet of Visovac for a visit of the Franciscan Monastery. Lunch in a typical etno village near Krka National Park. Continuation to Šibenik, visit of the Cathedral of St Jacob /15th century/, a masterpiece of the Gothic-Renaissance Art. Dinner and overnight in Split/Trogir Riviera.
Day 7: TROGIR (UNESCO) – SPLIT (UNESCO) – DUBROVNIK
Morning city tour Trogir, a picturesque medieval town including a visit to the Cathedral of St Lawrence with its magnificent Romanesque portal. We continue to Split for a visit of the Diocletian Palace (3rd century A.D.) including Peristyle, Cathedral of St Dominus and Jupiter`s Temple. Departure to Dubrovnik. Dinner and overnight in Dubrovnik.
Day 8: DUBROVNIK (UNESCO)
Sightseeing tour of Dubrovnik including the Franciscan and Dominican Monasteries, Rector’s Palace and the Cathedral. In the afternoon, free time to explore on your own the walls or the ile of Lokrum. Dinner and overnight in Dubrovnik.
Day 9: MONTENEGRO
Full day excursion to Montenegro. Located along one of Montenegro’s most beautiful bays is Kotor (UNESCO) a city of traders and famous sailors, with many stories to tell. The Old City of Kotor is a well preserved urbanization typical of the middle Ages, built between the 12th and 14th century. Medieval architecture and numerous monuments of cultural heritage have made Kotor a UNESCO listed “World Natural and Historical Heritage Site”. Through the entire city the buildings are criss-crossed with narrow streets and squares. We continue our ride on a curvy road with a beautiful view over the Bay of Boka Kotorska up to Cetinje. Once the seat of Montenegrin rulers, today a city-museum, Cetinje is famous for its monuments and we are going to visit the most important one – the King Nicholas’ Museum. After the sightseeing of Cetinje, we return to the coast with a short stop at a belvedere above Sveti Stefan, and then visit the old town of Budva. Budva is more than 2500 year old and one of the oldest settlements on the Adriatic. Dinner and overnight in Dubrovnik.
Day 10 MLJET ISLAND National Park
Full day excursion to the Island of Mljet covered by dense pine woods with two salty lakes connected by a narrow channel. In the middle of the Great Lake there is an islet with the old Benedictine Monastery. Dinner and overnight in Dubrovnik.
Day 11 DUBROVNIK – Departure
After breakfast, transfer to the Airport Dubrovnik.
